Subject: New Customary Law of the Beni-Amer Tribes
I attach herewith a copy of the New
Customary Law to govern the necessities of the whole of the Beni-Amer wherever
they might be in disputes arising out from the fundamental principles of the
Customary Law.
2. This
new codification has been arrived at as a result of numerous meetings of the
elected representatives of the tribes, and the result of each meeting was
communicated to the people concerned.
3. Whilst I have to inform you that I have been, in turn, delegated
to reduce into writing the above Law I wish to state that I am doing this work
for my people only in my capacity as a member thereof and not in any other
status which I may be holding officially in the Government.
